Osbourn High School Theatre
Making Greatness from Small Beginnings
Peter Brook said it best in his book "The Empty Space" when he defined audience engagement: "a man who walks across an empty stage whilst someone else is watching him" is all that is needed to create theatre. At OHS, we take this simplified definition and dive deeper into our human nature to 'walk' across the stage, as well as 'watch' as an informed, educated, and polite audience.
Osbourn Theatre students study the acting styles of Uda Hagen and Konstantin Stanyslavski to guide their learning in the classroom. Using project based and learning focused strategies, OHS theatre primes the student for the professional world of acting, as well as giving them hands on experience as technician, director, writer, and collaborator on a myriad of projects. Students are encouraged to create, to ask questions, and to boldly seek to answer society's greatest struggles through the exploration of art. We believe that anyone can act, just as anyone can breathe, can imagine, and can dream. We hope you'll join us!
Our mission can only continue to be strengthened by the continuous support from parents and volunteers like you. Please consider becoming a booster member of our theatre, either through donating time, expertise, or monetary funds- each contribution goes a long way to making our little theatre into a great one!
